FILM ENTRY details
The Scene is a curated film series showcasing emerging filmmakers and bold, intentional
storytelling. We welcome narrative, documentary, experimental, and hybrid works that engage
emotionally, culturally, and creatively with each chapter’s theme.
What We’re Looking For
Clear point of view and intentional storytelling
Thoughtful engagement with the chapter theme
Emotional honesty, originality, and craft
Work that invites conversation rather than shock for shock’s sake
Low-budget films are welcome. Care and clarity matter more than polish.
Creative Freedom & Responsibility
We support bold expression and critical storytelling. Submissions may explore difficult subjects,
including social, political, or personal conflict.
We do not accept work that:
Promotes hate or dehumanization
Explicitly endorses violence
Functions as propaganda or misinformation
Nuanced critique is encouraged. Harmful advocacy is not.
Representation & Ethics
Filmmakers are expected to approach representation with care and integrity. Stories centered
on underrepresented voices are strongly encouraged.
If your film contains sensitive material (violence, sexual content, trauma), please include a
content advisory.
Technical Expectations
No minimum budget or format requirements.
Films should have:
Understandable audio
Intentional framing
Coherent editing
Rough edges are acceptable; carelessness is not.
Eligibility
Filmmakers must own or control exhibition rights
All music and talent must be properly cleared
Student and independent filmmakers are welcome
Curation Note
Submission does not guarantee exhibition. Programming is curated to create a balanced,
intentional audience experience aligned with each chapter’s theme.
